Open throughout the year, the Royal Bay Jetty has all the key facilities required for day visits or extended overnight stays with 10 water moorings for vessels up to 50ft. Yachts need to provide their own tender to shore or arrangements can be made via our Watersports Centre (charges apply).
The gateway to several of Abu Dhabi’s islands, collectively known as Desert Islands, the idyllic setting offers access to explore the Arabian Wildlife Park and the luxury of three Anantara resorts.Sir Bani Yas Island is known for its crystal clear surrounding waters, while the Royal Bay offers the latest technology and all the facilities that are needed to provide the highest level of comfort and service all year round. Guests have access to fresh drinking water (at the jetty), fuel (ADNOC fuel card required no cash facilities), fire protection, 7m water depth. A medical clinic is also available on the island.
The beautiful Sir Bani Yas Island is home to three unique Anantara Resorts each equipped with luxury accommodations, swimming pools, dining outlets, boutique and an Anantara Spa. Choose from the family friendly Desert Islands Resort & Spa, discover free-roaming wildlife at the African inspired Anantara Al Sahel Villa Resort or relax at the beachside Anantara Al Yamm Villa Resort. Royal Bay day visitors are welcome to use the swimming pool at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara (at an additional cost).
The island offers visitors an array of activities and excursions. Explore the stunning landscape with nature and wildlife drives and walks, mountain biking and horse riding. Choose from a range of water and land activities including kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, wadi walks, archery, culture and heritage tours or a visit to an archaeological site. Other amenities include a Kids Club, Teens Club and retail souk/boutique. Sir Bani Yas Island has been envisaged as a unique holiday destination in its own right, blending harmoniously with the traditional flavours and styles of Arabia.
Getting Here / Pilotage
The entrance to the Royal Bay is straightforward. No unmarked obstacles or dangers are to be found.

Permits & Formalities
All pleasure craft/boats and yachts entering the waters of Sir Bani Yas Island will require an approved ADNOC Petroleum Ports Authority Application. Please download the application form here for submission directly to the authorities. The application should be prepared and submitted 7 days prior to arrival.
Important note: shipping channels may only be crossed after radio contact with the Petroleum Ports Authority office and receipt of permissions. It is the responsibility of the vessel captain to follow all protocols set out by the Petroleum Ports Authority who control the waters surrounding the Island. Royal Bay Moorings are complimentary for guests with confirmed hotel bookings. For day visitors moorings are AED 300++ per day or part thereof.
Insurance is obligatory for all yachts and must cover the following:
• Third party liability for injury or death
• Third party liability for material damages
• Sea water pollution
• Salvage and wrecking
No pets permitted on the island.
